Maghan Burge, MSN, FNP-C, CCRN, is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Critical Care Registered Nurse with a career defined by clinical excellence, advocacy, and continuous growth.
Maghan began her medical journey while still in college, working as a medical technician at her hometown hospital before transitioning into cardiac surgery and acute care as a Registered Nurse. After earning her Master of Science in Nursing from The George Washington University (GWU), she practiced as a Family Nurse Practitioner in holistic primary care, seeing pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients with a whole-person approach. She went on to work as an NP in a Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at one of the nation’s premier research and level 1 trauma institutions.
In 2025, Maghan took her next bold step: she was accepted into a Nurse Anesthesia program and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) as a Student Registered Nurse Anesthetist (SRNA). This decision reflects her commitment to operating at the highest level of the nursing profession and her belief that great clinicians never stop learning.
Maghan is also the founder of Anura Health Group, PLLC (anurahealth.com), a healthcare consulting practice. Through Anura Health Group, she offers consulting, speaking, and mentorship to healthcare organizations, clinicians, and aspiring advanced practice nurses navigating complex systems and challenging careers.
She is an ardent supporter and advocate for autonomous nursing practice, continuing the fight for full practice authority and working alongside other passionate individuals to advance important legislative efforts on behalf of all nursing specialties.
Outside of her clinical work and consulting, Maghan spends time with her husband, three kids, and pug at their home in Northern Virginia. She’ll tell you the beach is her happy place — and that she also rides a motorcycle, just to keep things interesting.
If you are interested in connecting, consulting, or collaborating, she’d love to hear from you. Go nurses!
